Margaret D.
Fitzpatrick
June 28, 1921 – January 14, 2018
Margaret D. "Marge" Fitzpatrick, of Menasha, formerly of Little Chute, age 96, passed away on January 14, 2018, at home, comforted by her faith and surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was born on June 28, 1921 in DePere, WI to John and Helena Jacobs. She attended West DePere High School and worked in her family grocery store. She later attended UW-Oshkosh. Marge married the love of her life Bill Fitzpatrick on August 13, 1947. They moved to Little Chute and together raised eight children. With pride and joy Marge welcomed in-laws, grandchildren and great grandchildren. While her husband Bill was a noted teacher and coach, it was Marge who provided unheralded support to him and was the foundation of our daily family life. She was so selfless and nurturing, quick to smile, generous and loving, simply the best.
She not only took care of her own family needs, she was the uniform washer and mender, team dinner maker, and best cheerleader/referee/coach from the stands. She also managed to deliver her twin sons 2 hours prior to Coach Fitz's first football game making his debut possible. After raising her family she shared her talents with other children, as a teaching assistant in the Little Chute School District.
Survivors include four sons: Bill Jr. (Bridget) Fitzpatrick, Fremont; Michael (Lynette) Fitzpatrick, Glendale, AZ; Timothy Fitzpatrick (Ellen Quale), Milwaukee, WI; and Brien (Claire) Fitzpatrick, Schaumburg, IL; four daughters: Margaret (Tom) Gossens, Appleton; Maureen (Jeff) Carpenter, Phoenix, AZ; Erin (Ed) Schmidt Wisconsin Rapids; Katie (Dutch) Hurley, Appleton. She is further survived by daughter-in-law Donna Fitzpatrick, Sun Prairie; 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, with 3 more joyously on the way. She is also survived by sisters Elizabeth Miskella and Helen Brennan both of DePere; and dear friends Bud and Joan Kohn. Marge is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband Bill; her parents; her mother and father-in-law; her siblings and in-laws: Henry (Gladys) Jacobs, A.L. (Margaret) Jacobs, Norbert Jacobs, Florence Hartman, Paul Miskella and Urban Brennan. She was also preceded by two grandchildren: Katelan and Maureen Fitzpatrick; in-laws: Edward (Betty) Fitzpatrick, Bernard (Claire) Fitzpatrick, Paul (Anne) Fitzpatrick, Mary (Bob) Cooney and Kay (Stan) Giza.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 19, 2018 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:00 p.m. The Rev. Ronald Belitz will officiate. Committal St. John Cemetery.
We were so truly blessed to have Marge in our lives. Ninety-six grace filled years, a beautiful life, so well lived, you will be so dearly missed.
