Obituary

William (Bill) L. Otto, 86, passed away at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton on November 6, 2021. Bill was born at home August 30, 1935 to the late William H. and Rose (Kronz) Otto, the oldest of 4 children. He was united in marriage to Kathleen McCormick on February 11, 1961 at St. John's Church, Little Chute.  They were married 60 years this past February.

Bill was a 1953 graduate of Seymour Community High School. He participated in FFA during his high school years.  Upon graduating from high school, Bill joined the Army Reserve and worked as a millwright at the former Appleton Mills. In February of 1969, Bill and Kay moved to a dairy farm in Black Creek until he retired.

Bill and Kay enjoyed bowling and Friday night fish frys with Jim and Sonya Prellwitz for many years.  Bill also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, playing soft ball, auctions, and good game of sheepshead.

Bill was active in 4-H for many years as a youth, stayed on to become a dairy project leader, and volunteered at the Outagamie County Fair (for 50+ years).

Survivors include his wife Kay; his 5 children: Sue (Dennis Laskowski) Otto, Dan (Sharlene) Otto, Sharon (Jim) Henn, Barb (Chuck) Miller, and Char (Mike) Vandenberg; grandchildren: Alexis, Jackson, Heidi (Mike), Jaleesa, Gavin, Zach (Dana), Savanna, Hunter, Elliot and Alex; and great grandchildren: Raegan and Kinley.  He is also survived by one sister, Rosemary Coenen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jack (Nancy) McCormick, Maureen (Ken) Schwaller, Eileen (Dick Dollevoet) Gerrits, Colleen (Ron)Verkuilen, and Noreen (Cory) Hughes; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Lewis and Helen McCormick; his brothers, Loren (MaryAnn) Otto and Bruce Otto; and brothers-in-law, Duane Coenen and Pat McCormick.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m.  Military honors conducted by the Black Creek American Legion Post 332 will immediately follow.  No flowers please and dress casual.
