William R. "Bill" Heckert, age 61, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023. He was born in Appleton on August 13, 1962, to the late Emil and Germaine (Krautkramer) Heckert. Bill married Paula Schuh at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute on November 30, 1991. They shared 32 years together, through thick and thin. Bill enjoyed fishing and loved music, going to many concerts. Overall, he loved being with his family and friends, whether that was up north, or on their many trips to Mexico. He lived life with no regrets.

Bill is survived by his former spouse and mother of his children, Paula; his children: Alan Heckert, of Kimberly, and Amanda (Tyler) Merkes, of Appleton; and his one-month-old grandbaby, Elwyn Tyler Merkes. Bill is further survived by his brother, Steve (Kathy) Heckert; niece, Kimberly (Mark) LaChapell; nephew, Michael (Christina) Brochtrup; father-in-law, Tony Schuh; siblings-in-law: Mark Schuh and Diane Schuh; and their fur-buddy, Jameson.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Karen Schuh.

No formal funeral will be held at this time.
