William J.
Eick
July 4, 1940 – April 27, 2020
William (Bill) Eick, 79, Neenah, WI, died Monday due to cancer and other health issues. He was born in Seymour, WI, son of Hubert and Lorna (Rusch) Eick. He worked on the family farm until moving to Appleton in 1953.
Bill served in the United States Army from July 1964 to July 1970. His first two years were spent on active duty at Fort Lewis, Washington. During his active duty he also served with the 74th MP detachment at Ft. Lawton, Washington. His service to his country also included attending military school in accounting for distribution Spec., and served in payroll for his company. After active duty in June 1966, he returned home and served four more years in Reserves. Bill left the Army in July of 1970 with an honorable discharge. His service to his country is much appreciated.
He liked driving and a number of his jobs were working for delivery services. Among them were: Roadway Packaging, Badger Periodicals, Yellow Cab Company, and a medi-van service.
Bill had a variety of cars over the years including several sports cars. He raced his Austin Healy in Union Grove, IL, and won many trophies. He was a Packer fan and enjoyed gardening and lawn work. He also loved music and attending concerts. More recently, he enjoyed going to his sister Penny's home and watching action movies with his nephew, Andrew. He never missed an episode of "60 Minutes".
He lived in the Seattle, WA, area for many years and met many good friends. Three of those friends and Bill opened a record shop. He moved back to Neenah to help care for his aging parents. Bill would try to make visits to Washington every other year.
Bill is survived by two step daughters: Michelle (Shawn) McVey, their children, "JJ" Jeffrey and Rosie, of Snohomish, WA; and Carolyn Gage, son Leo, of Bellingham, WA. He is also survived by seven sisters: Carla (Alden) Kuschel, Appleton; Shalby (Darrel) Foth, Colorado; Sonja Eick, Menasha; Millie (Joe) Wilharms, Menasha; Mardelle (Mark) Nichols, Appleton; Deanna (James) Brock, Neenah; and Penny Eick, Little Chute; two brothers: Bert (Sue), Winneconne; and Rick (Sharon), Appleton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Lana (Gary) Mulvihill and Jacquelyn (Walter) Pingel; brother, Philip and his daughter Shannon; and two nephews, Quintin and Carey Pingel.
Bill had a very kind and generous nature and would readily help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
