Wilbert "Bill" Erdmann, Kimberly, age 97, died Friday, August 17, 2018. He was born in Schofield on September 16, 1920 to the late William and Mary (Hoffman) Erdmann. Bill served in the U.S. Army during World War II and toured Washington DC as an Old Glory Honor Flight participant with his grandson in 2011. He married Pauline Bankert Buettner in Merrill on March 4, 1977. Bill retired from Marathon Engineers, Architects and Planners. He loved the outdoors, cutting wood, hunting, fishing, four wheeling and spending time with his family at the cottage in Amberg. Bill also enjoyed reading and was always building or tinkering with something. He liked to socialize with his friends at the Wishing Well and Hitters. He had a great sense of humor and never acted his age.
Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pauline; children: Russ Erdmann, St. Augustine Beach, FL; Laurie (Larry) Prentice, Traverse City, MI; Susan Burbee, Omro; Becky (Gary) Frassetto, Kimberly; David Buettner, Hortonville; and Jolene Vosters, Freedom; grandchildren: Nikki (Alan) Nowak, Amie (Tony) Kazik, Ben (Krissy) Vosters, Kevin (Katie) Vosters, Scot (Jeanna) Frassetto, Michael (Victoria) Frassetto, Abby (Zach) Vanevenhoven, Laylah Buettner, Ali and Elizabeth Prentice; and great grandchildren: Carly, Connor and Tristan Frassetto, Michael, Haley, Taylor and Claire Nowak, Stalone Kazik and Wesley Vosters. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his siblings: Marion (Lawrence) Sternberg, Leonard (Val) Erdmann, Norman Erdmann, Margaret (Steve) Petri and Jen (Donald) Tesch.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:30 a.m. Deacon Vincent De Groot will officiate. Military honors will immediately follow. Committal Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery, Kimberly.
