Wesley Bevers, Appleton, age 97, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Care Partners in Appleton after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's dementia
He was born on April 28, 1928 to the late Adrian and Myrtle (Le Boeuf) Bevers and grew up in Little Chute. Wesley joined the Navy at age 17 during World War II and served two years. He began his career at C.R. Meyers at age 20 in 1948 as a carpenter foreman, later becoming top superintendent. He remained at C.R. Meyers for 42 years.
Wesley married Marguerite Stokes on May 29, 1954 and together, they raised two sons, Jim and Tom Bevers.
He loved golf, fishing, birding, nature, and the cottage he built at Lake Hilbert. Wesley was a handy dude and not afraid to try anything.
Wes is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marguerite; sons: Jim (Peggy) Bevers and Tom (Sharon Auden) Bevers; brother, Mike (Darlene) Bevers; and brothers-in-law, Mark Hietpas and Richard Stokes. He also leaves behind grandchildren: Mike (Kasey) Bevers, Jake Bevers, Sam (Valeria) Bevers; as well as great grandchildren: Lilly, Arlo, and Amelia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wes was preceded in death by his brothers: Orval (Ruth), Jesse (Sally), and Dave (Nancy); and sisters: Vivian (Marvin) Skalmusky, Eunice (Woody) McCabe, Audrey (Jerome) Schmidt, Linda Hietpas, and Carol. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Ken and Annelies Stokes and Leslie and Lavonne Luckow.
A private funeral is planned.
