Vollmer
October 5, 1930 – July 12, 2024
Vivian E. Vollmer, New London, age 93, passed away with her family by her side on July 12, 2024, at her favorite time, sunrise. She was born on October 5, 1930, in Wild Rose, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Reuben and Evelyn Schultz. Vivian was married to Milan George "Smiley" Vollmer, on October 2, 1954, in Wautoma, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2013. They were married 59 years.
Vivian loved to crochet, bake, plant flowers, work on crossword puzzles, play UNO, and make crafts. She was a longstanding member of the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of the Christian Mothers Society. Above all, Vivian loved to spend time with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and trout fishing with Smiley.
Vivian is survived by four daughters and one son: Trudy (John) Hill, Matt (Bonnie) Vollmer, Mary Vollmer, Colleen Niemczyk, and Nicole (Scott) Vollmer; seven grandchildren: Matt Hill, Jake (Amanda) Hill, Jesse (Amanda) Vollmer, Meegan (Lexi) Niemczyk, Annesha Vollmer, Courtney Vollmer, and Dustin Vollmer; eight great grandchildren: Aidan, Ethan, Charlie, Quinn, Beau, Jeremiah, Athena, and Jayden; brother, Gordon (Arlene) Schultz; and in-laws: Ray Vollmer and Nancy Mueller. Vivian is further survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Vivian was preceded in death by her infant son, Craig; brother, Delbert (Greta) Schultz; parents-in-law, George and Anne Vollmer; sister-in-law, Janet Opper; and two brothers-in-law, Norman Opper and Virgil Mueller.
Visitation for Vivian will be held July 25, 2024, at the chapel of ST. JOSEPH RESIDENCE (107 E. Beckert Road, New London) beginning at 12:00 p.m. until time of Funeral at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Phil Schoofs officiating. A private family burial will take place at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, where Vivian will be laid to rest
