Vivian M. "Viv" Bons (Traxler)

Age 89, a long time Kimberly, WI, resident, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024 in Appleton, WI.  Beloved wife of the late Peter Bons for 52 years, and cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister.

Viv, born November 7, 1934 in Black Creek, WI, was one of 9 children born to the late Tony and Mary (Murphy) Traxler.  On April 28, 1956, she married Peter Bons in a double wedding ceremony alongside her sister, who married Pete's brother. This year would have marked their 68th anniversary.

Vivian adored spending time with her family, playing cards, and enjoying a little candy. She was known for her patience, kindness, and willingness to help. Family was everything to her!

She is survived by 4 children, 18 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren:  The late Leanne and Jim Splittgerber, Kaitlin and Jimmy, Appleton; Pete and Carol Bons, Sarah and Patrick Luna, Jon and Adrianne Bons (Conrad, Theo), Felicia and Mike Custis (Olivia, James, Elijah, Benjamin), and Kelly, Noblesville, IN; Sally and Paul DeBruin, Molly (Nathanial, Vivian, Roland, Priscilla), Sam (Madilynn), Renee and Ben Eisley (Ada, Owen, Ella, Abigail), Haley (Liam, Peyton, Preston), Xzavion, and Armani, Appleton; Liz and Larry George, Becky and Dave Deeg (Jonah, Wyatt, Abram, Viviana), Melanie and Ryan Quella (Rylee, Lillian), and Pete and Leah George (Collin, Bennett), Kaukauna; and Mike and Tricia Bons, Jacob, Lindsay, and Anna, Menomonee Falls, WI.  She is also survived by sister-in-laws: Pat Traxler, Barb Traxler, and Ardine Bons.

She is preceded in death by her husband Peter, daughter Leanne and an infant son Richard; sisters/brothers and in-laws:  Geneva (Chris) Konz,  Marian (Don) Schweda, Monica Traxler (infant), Pat (George) Pavolich, Rita (Ricky) Allen, and Sally (John) Bons, Dr. Anthony Traxler, Joe Traxler, Betty (Jake) Kelderman, Hank Bons, Mary (Jake) Raedts, Bill (Rosa) Bons, Jake (Percy) Bons, Coby (Ted) Kokke, Dorothy (Bill) Vander Maazen, and Ann (John) Schultz.

Visitation will be held April 13, 2024 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Dave Hayden officiating.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.  To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com.
