Obituary

Virgil Floyd Wolfgram, of Neenah, age 85, died peacefully Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Cherry Meadows Hospice Care. Virgil was surrounded by loving family members and friends up until the end. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Joan (Bergemann).

Survivors include daughter Debbie Gillingham, De Pere; and son Randy (Lynae) Wolfgram, Appleton; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Cole, Matthew and Maria Wolfgram; and very special friend, Joy Harding.
Virgil was born December 31, 1929 in Beaver Dam, WI to Otto and Laura (Krueger) Wolfgram. He attended Warden School through the 8th grade and continued to work on his father's farms.

Virgil and Joan were married on April 29, 1961.

Virgil was a loving husband and father. He was a hard worker and good provider for his family. He worked his early years as a dairy, hog and cash crop farmer in Burnett, WI and retired from farming in 1976. He then worked as a farm equipment and combine mechanic for 17 years. Virgil also worked part time doing seasonal harvesting for several canning factories in the Fond du Lac area well into his retirement years. He lived in Juneau, Burnett, Fond du Lac and Neenah, WI. During his life he enjoyed fishing, working on engines, bike riding, sledding, skiing, hunting, roller skating, snowmobiling and playing the accordion and the organ. Virgil loved traveling in his campers over the years and was fortunate enough to see much of the US. In his later years, he enjoyed putting together puzzles, playing the marble game, drinking a lime vodka on Christmas and spending time with family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Virgil's life will be held at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH (1390 Breezewood Lane, Neenah, WI 54956) on Saturday, March 7th at 11:00am. Visitation will be from 9:30am-10:45am and lunch will follow the service.

Special thanks to the many friends he had at Assisi Homes of Neenah for their companionship and friendship over the years, especially Barb and Stephanie. Additionally, the family would like to thank Cherry Meadows for their care and compassion to Virgil and his family.
