Vincent F.
Schmidt
April 5, 1925 – April 6, 2018
Vincent F. Schmidt, Combined Locks, age 93, died Friday, April 6, 2018 surrounded by loving arms of his family. He was born in the Town of Woodville on April 5, 1925 to the late John J. and Hattie (Van Asten) Schmidt. Vincent was a War World II Army veteran that served in the Pacific from 1944-46 and was a member of the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60 and the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319. Vincent worked at the Kimberly mill, retiring after 40 years. He was a member of the Golden Agers in Combined Locks for many years. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy. Vincent enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends, especially his Monday morning buddies. Any day was a good day if he could go fishing with one of his children/grandchildren. It did not matter if the fish were biting as long as there was an ice cream cone at the end of the line. At 92, he still went to the YMCA at least once a week.
