Vernon John Evers
June 10, 1935 – October 25, 2025
Vernon John Evers, age 90, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, with family by his side. He was born on June 10, 1935, in Appleton, Wisconsin, son of the late Martin and Florance Evers.
Vernon was a proud graduate of Appleton High School and went on to serve his country honorably as a Specialist with the 1st Battalion of the 127th Infantry in the Army National Guard from 1957 to 1963.
On July 16, 1960, Vernon was united in marriage to the love of his life, Beverly J. (Biese) Evers, and together they shared 65 wonderful years.
Vernon worked as a skilled construction carpenter and foreman from 1968 until his retirement in 1995. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and work ethic, values he carried throughout his life.
Outside of work, Vernon enjoyed life's simple pleasures—playing cards, long car rides with his wife to Chute Pond, riding his bike, taking his beloved dogs Buddy and Sadie for car rides, and spending time outdoors caring for the pond and woods at his Greenville home. Later in life he liked going out to eat with Beverly and sitting on the swing down at Lutz Park to watch boats go by and wait for the deer and ducks.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly; four children: Kenneth (Tammy), Diane (Nick), Susan (Paul) and Brian (Tonja); seven grandchildren: Tim (Paul Jr.), Michelle (Brian), Kristin, Jessica (Logan), Cody, Kimberly (Greg), and Trevor; 5 Great Grand Children; and his brother, Eugene Evers.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Florance Evers; three brothers: Clarence, Norman, and LeRoy; and three sisters: Dorothy, Lois, and Joyce.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral is planned at this time.
Vernon will be remembered for his steady strength and quiet dedication to his family and work. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
