December 28, 1935 – April 2, 2023
Thomas John Wydeven, Little Chute, age 87, died peacefully with his wife and daughter at his side, on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at St. Paul Home. He was born in Kimberly on December 28, 1935 to the late Richard and Grace (Jansen) Wydeven. Tom married Betty Hermsen at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church on August 29, 1959. He worked in the shipping department at Riverside Paper Corporation until his retirement in 1997. Tom loved golfing, woodworking, and cooking. He had a multitude of friends, many of whom knew him as Sardine. Tom also enjoyed playing cribbage and had two perfect hands. He was an avid Packers, Brewers, and Bucks fan.
Tom is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty; daughter, Jane (Craig) Miller of Kimberly; daughter-in-law, Jenny Wydeven of Plover; granddaughters (the "ding-a-ling sisters"): Emily (Josh) Holbrook, Maria Recker, Laura Recker, Amy (Ron) Bernitt, Andrea (Brenton) Hietpas, and Kelly Miller; great grandchildren: Alina and Nora Holbrook, Aubrey Bernitt, and Olivia Hietpas; brothers: James "Wimpy" (Janice), Robert, and Jeff (Beth) Wydeven; sisters: Carolyn (Dave) Minten and Barbara (Tom) Hoffmann; and brother and sisters-in-law: Elaine Wydeven, Richard Hermsen, and Elaine Jansen. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his son, Mike Wydeven; grandson, Timothy Miller; brothers: Dick (Betty) and Gerald "Square" Wydeven; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Donna Wydeven, Beverly Hermsen, John T. Jansen, Herb (Jean) Hermsen, Jeanne (George) Miller, and Catherine (Fran) Flannagan.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute) beginning at 1:30 p.m. until time of Mass at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald Belitz officiating. Committal St. John Cemetery.
