Obituary

Thomas L. Buss, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 25, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on April 24, 1953, in Appleton, Wisconsin, Tom was the cherished son of Leonard and Germaine Buss. He lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to his family and friends.

Tom leaves behind his devoted wife, Karen M. Buss, with whom he shared 22 wonderful years. Their journey together began at work and led them to marry on the beautiful shores of Jamaica on March 24, 2004. Their shared passions included riding their Harley Davidson through scenic routes, boating and fishing on Wisconsin’s serene waters, and exploring local flea markets and antique stores. Summers were often spent at outdoor festivals, car shows, and concerts, where Tom’s laughter and love for life were evident to all who knew him.

He was a proud father to Andrew Buss, Kelly Buss and her fiancé Shane Green, and Ashley Buss, who found love and companionship with Mike Khalifa. Along with a later in life marriage also came Karen’s children, Christopher Atkinson, Clint Zuleger (son Cole Zuleger) and Laura Zuleger Bork (Jeff). Tom’s legacy also continues through his cherished grandchildren, Dejuan Cameron and Austin Buss, who is happily married to Nick Meyer. Tom’s family was his anchor, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Tom’s siblings, Judy (John) Meyer, Sandy Williams, John (Kathy) Buss, and Tim Buss, remember him as a brother with a warm heart and an unwavering spirit.

He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Germaine Buss, his sister Susie, grandparents, John and Adela Buss and Arnold and Leona Rindt, and several other dear family members.

Known for his captivating stories and the way he enjoyed them with a cold beer in hand, Tom was a softy at heart, always ready with a smile. He lived life fully, even up to his last moments, passing while doing what he enjoyed most.

In keeping with Tom’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Tom’s memory to a charity of your choice.

Tom will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His stories, laughter, and love will continue to echo in the hearts of those he touched.
