Obituary

Susan Ann Ourada, Combined Locks, age 88, died at Country Villa in Little Chute, with her devoted family at her side, on Thursday, July 11, 2024.  She was born in Appleton to the late Edward and Madeline (Moran) Murray.  Sue married Donald Ourada at St. Joseph Parish in Appleton on August 30, 1958.

Faith and family were paramount in her life.  The Ourada home was the neighborhood hangout for friends and family and all were welcome.  She was everybody's mom.  Sue always saw life through rose colored glasses and saw the positive side of things.  She was truly loved by all who knew her.

Sue was very involved at St. Paul Parish, happily pitching in where ever she was needed.  Through the years, she sang in the choir, served funeral lunches, and taught CCD.  Sue sponsored many for their baptisms and confirmations.  She was very involved in the Right to Life movement and founded the Pregnancy Hotline.  Sue was tireless in her pursuit of bettering the life of everyone she met.

Together, she and Don volunteered with Meals on Wheels and fed the homeless.  They sponsored children from India and enjoyed keeping up with these children through the years.

Sue treasured her family and was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren.  She never missed a game or school event.  Sue often dropped lunch off at school for her kids, always with an inspirational note to carry them through the rest of day (CBWY).

Sue is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald; children:  Dianne (Tony) Groeschl, Chilton; Timothy (Trudy Lom-Ourada) Ourada, Darboy; Tom (special friend Tina Woods) Ourada; Scott (Jennifer Weber-Ourada) Ourada, Appleton; and Jay (Amy) Ourada, Appleton; grandchildren:  Anthony, Zachary (Cassie), and Ross (Brooke) Groeschl; Tony Lom and Tyler Ourada; Nick (fiancée Jai-Diana Vang) Ourada; Paige, Grace, and Patrick Ourada; Mitchell, Parker, and Evan Ourada; great grandchildren:  Brooks, Emmett, Evie, and Ayden; brother, Peter (Ginny) Murray; and brothers-in-law:  James and Mike (Mary) Ourada.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Ourada; father and mother-in-law:  Fabian and Anne (Kristzonas) Ourada; brothers:  Donald, James (Corky) and Edward "Ted" (Mary) Murray; and sisters-in-law:  Marge Murray and Nancy Ourada.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 at ST. PAUL PARISH (410 Wallace Street, Combined Locks) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Stegmann officiating.  Committal St. Paul Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fox Valley Memory Project.
