Obituary

Sophia Emily Stoltmann, Appleton, age 33, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, due to natural causes.  She was born in Elm Grove, WI on October 16, 1992, the daughter of Steven R. and Judy D. (Miller) Stoltmann.  Although her Bachelor's Degree is in Graphic Design, she didn't want to sit behind a desk, so she became an accomplished welder. She learned the basics of welding with the Pipefitters and perfected her skills on her own with hard work and practice.   Sophia loved the outdoors: year-round fishing, off-road mudding and rock crawling, hiking, geo-caching, and hunting for sea glass.  When indoors, she enjoyed a variety of handicrafts, building puzzles and baking birthday cakes for her friends.

Sophia loved her beautiful Blue Tick Coonhound, Barley, and spending time with family and friends.

She was one of the most patriotic persons you could ever meet.  She was a staunch supporter of our military and was proud to be a "Military Brat."

Sophia is survived by her parents, Steven and Judy Stoltmann of Bossier City, Louisiana; brother, Nicholas Steven Stoltmann of Mountain Home, Idaho; and Good Friends:  Kyle Edlund of Seymour, WI; Bubba Slocum of St. Charles, MN; and Tanya Thompson of Beaver Dam, WI.  She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Cherish Wisconsin Outdoors Fund .

A gathering to celebrate Sophia's life will be held in the Clubhouse at MID VALLEY GOLF COURSE (3850 Mid Valley Drive, De Pere, WI 54114) on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Refreshments will be served.
