Obituary

Shirley M. Van Lankvelt, Kaukauna, age 81, died Monday November 10, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born in Freedom on December 3, 1932 to the late Albert and Edith (Sanders) Sanderfoot. Shirley married Philip Van Lankvelt on April 19, 1955 at St. John Nepomucene in Little Chute.

Shirley's family was her world. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also loved to spend time at the cottage, playing sheep head, watching the brewers, and when we could get her over her fear of water she enjoyed rides on her son's pontoon boat. The many family photos throughout her home reflected how important immediate and extended family meant to her. Shirley was an amazing women who was always there for you whoever you were, she loved to joke and laugh with everyone and was friendly to whomever she met along with bringing a smile to everyone's faces. She would do anything for anyone didn't matter the task she would have given you the shirt off her back or even her last dime. Words truly can't explain how amazing Shirley truly was.

Shirley is survived by her children: Ann Van Lankvelt, Tim (Tom Brooks) Van Lankvelt and Karen (Scott) Fazendin; daughter-in-law: Barb (Jerry) Meulemans; grandchildren: Eric and Luke (Katie) Van Lankvelt, Amber Meulemans, Cassie (Matt) Roberts, Ian (Rachel) and Sydney (fiance Jamie Swenson) Fazendin; great grandchildren: Arianna, Chanel and Philip and was looking forward to meeting four more that are on the way; siblings: Richard Sanderfoot and Audrey (James) Van Lankvelt; and sisters and brother-in-law: Laverne Van Lankvelt, Frances Van Nuland, Leo Campbell and Janet Van Lankvelt; surrogate granddaughter and great grandson Stephani and Drew Heitpas. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband Philip, Shirley was preceded in death by her sons: John and Thomas; brother: Robert; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Ruby Sanderfoot, Margaret (Rainer) Depies,
Peter Van Nuland, Dorothy (Casey) Lamers, Angela Campbell, Henry, Peter (Lorraine) and Bernard Van Lankvelt.

Visitation will be held at Saturday November 15, 2014 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. Committal St. John Cemetery, Little Chute.

When we hear wind chimes blowing in the wind we will know its Shirley smiling down on us.
