Obituary

Shirley A. Martzahl, of Hortonville, passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 17, 2024. She was born to the late Willis and Isabelle Meyer on April 8, 1939.
She is survived by her husband Don (Mush) Martzahl. She and Don celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary together with a dinner on November 14th. She was very happy to be able to share this dinner with Don.
Shirley is also survived by her children: Julie (Mark) Warning, Lori (Gary) Heiting, Sherry (Joel) Murphy, Terry (Scott Allen) Bork, Rick Bork, Troy (Melanie Chally) Bork, Brad (Karen) Bork, and Tom (Linda) Bork; and her grandchildren: Rachel (Nick) Locy, Rob (Christine) Warning, Nicholas (Karen) Heiting, Danielle (Eric) Dresang, Stephanie (Dan) Hinz, Tyler (Brienne) Murphy, Devon Bork, Kelsey (Matt Bittinger) Bork, Amanda Bork, Brandon (Kaitlyn) Bork, Carly (Jake Guyette) Bork, Kyle Bork, Eric Bork, Stephanie Peterson, and Dylan Bork.
Shirley is further survived by 5 stepsons: Cal Martzahl, Greg (Carmen) Martzahl, Brad (Dawn) Martzahl, Troy Martzahl and Wade (Judy) Martzahl; and their children: Travis (Cassie) Martzahl, Josh Martzahl, Brandon Martzahl, Lexi Martzahl, Amanda Martzahl, Jessica (Susie) Martzahl, Rachel (Sara) Martzahl, Cam (Bobbi Obermeier) Martzahl, Mackenzie (Mason Opperman) Martzahl.
She was very blessed to have 19 great grandchildren: Zander, Treven, Eden, Hayden, Haylia, Hudson, Ava, Liam, Brylee, Wesson, Quinn, Lydia, Jack, Michael, Jackson, Lucas, Autumn, Roger, and Ainsley; and 6 step great grandchildren: Trevan, Mara, Bella, Hailie, Remi, and Wyatt; as well as her very special friends, Randy and Peggy Peebles, and their children, Emily and Brianna.
Shirley spent many years raising her family before owning and operating Shirley's Tap in Hortonville. After selling her business, she was the manager of the Grandview Golf Course, also in Hortonville. Shirley tended bar for several years at Mac's Landing, and her hobbies included shooting pool and golfing. In the last several years she loved putting together puzzles. She and Don always had a puzzle on the dining room table. Their collection of puzzles totals about 150.
Shirley's family was most important to her. She loved family parties, especially holiday gatherings, card parties, and Packer parties, and her days were always brightened by visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Shirley's family would like to thank Moments Hospice and the staff at Country Villa in Freedom for their loving and kind care for the past two weeks.
Shirley is preceded in death by her son Scott Bork and will be buried by him at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Larsen, Wisconsin, at a private family committal.
