Sean M.
Gretzinger
March 4, 1991 – December 24, 2024
Sean Michael Gretzinger was born on March 4, 1991, in Appleton, WI to Colny and Jill Gretzinger. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 24, 2024.
Sean cherished spending time with his family and friends. His fondest memories included family vacations, playing sports with his dad and brother, extended family gatherings, high school track & field, and his annual golf outing with friends. Sean enjoyed spending time with his dog Jack, electronic dance music, NBA basketball, sitting around a campfire, relaxing at the lake, and playing Euchre and cribbage.
Sean was a natural athlete, extremely intelligent, had a strong work ethic and infectious smile. However, his defining characteristic was his warmth, generosity, and acceptance of others. Sean was always willing to offer a hand, whether it be to family, friends, or people in need. He was selfless and served others without asking for anything in return. He never judged people and spoke up when he saw treatment towards others that was unkind. Sean's compassion for others and kindness knew no limits.
Sean will be missed dearly by his parents, older siblings Laura and Craig (Kate), nieces and nephew (Grace, Finn and Gabby), along with extended family and friends. Sean was preceded in death by his grandparents (Jeanette and Bob Gay, Frances and Charles Gretzinger), several aunts and uncles (Carrie and Jeff Gretzinger, and Mark Gay), and two cousins (Chancey Gay and Renee Hooey).
Sean battled depression for many years. We will forever admire his bravery and perseverance seeking to overcome it.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH (326 E. North Street, Appleton) from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. His Funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Mary Bauer officiating. Committal Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
In Sean's memory, and in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the charity of your choice; NAMI Fox Cities; or the Salvation Army.
