Obituary

Scott R. Peterson, Little Chute, age 45, died Friday January 16, 2015. He was born in Green Bay on October 31, 1969 to Dennis and Barbara (Buenning) Peterson. Scott served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne in Panama and Desert Storm; he always proclaimed that he wasn't comfortable up high unless he had a parachute on his back. He married Jill Besaw on September 26, 1992 at SS Peter and Paul Parish in Hortonville. Scott worked as a machinist at Bemis Company in Neenah. Scott loved music with a passion; he spent his weekends working as a disc jockey at weddings, proms, homecomings and middle school dances. Scott was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Scott is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jill; children: Hali (at MSOE), Dustin and Kyra (both at home); parents Dennis and Barbara; brother Chris (Jada); grandmother Carol Buenning; father and mother-in-law Doug and Kathy Besaw; and sister and brother-in-law: Paula (Todd) Van Asten and Kip (Cecelia) Besaw. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Buenning and Pete Peterson.

Scott was a remarkable person. He had a great impact on everyone around him whether it was as a loving husband, a caring father, a son to be proud of or a loyal friend. He will be sorely missed by all he touched as they continue to move throughout life honoring his memory.

Visitation will be held Monday at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday at ST. MARY PARISH (312 S. State St. Appleton) from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Bill Swichtenberg will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.


The family would like to thank Fox River Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care of Scott through his passing.
