Sandra L.
Freis
September 8, 1938 – February 26, 2024
Sandra Lee Freis, Appleton, age 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2024. She was born on September 8, 1938 to the late Hilbert and Marcella (Voss) Freis and was a 1956 graduate of Kiel High School. Sandy worked at Michiel's Brillion Inn and as a CNA in nursing homes in New Holstein and Chilton. She retired from Wisconsin Title in Appleton. Sandy loved to crochet, bake, sew, read books, sing hymns, and play music. Family was very important to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and delighted in their accomplishments. Together, they loved to sing, dance, listen to music, and play board games.
Sandy had the gift of being able to "play by ear" on the guitar, piano, organ, trumpet, and accordion. Sandy was a fan of classic country music, especially Glen Campbell, The Statler Brothers, Vince Gill, and Alan Jackson, but Elvis was always her favorite!
Sandy is survived by her children: Barb (Jim) Miller-Strong, Appleton; Debbie Weber, Milwaukee; Ken (Julie) Ninmer, California; and Bonnie (Thomas) Frangis II, Nashville; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Andrew (Ashley) Miller and their daughters, Makenzie, Brooklynn, and Harper; Bryan (Amanda) Miller; Victoria Frangis; and Jordan and Preston Ninmer; sister, Rogene (Roger) Stolson; former brother-in-law, Rev. Donald (JoAnn) Ninmer; former sister-in-law, Marlene (Bob) Martin; and extended family: Janet (late Arnold) Miller, Laurie (Glenver) Wagner, Susan Miller, Roseanne (late John) Porter, and Mary Miller. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn Marie; son-in-law, Mike Miller; sister, Carol (Vernon) Grupe; extended family, Paul T. Miller; and granddogs: Snoopy, Sadie, Lily, Casey, Austin, and Tyler.
Visitation will be held March 9, 2024 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 12:00 noon. The Rev. Robert Raasch will officiate. In honor of mom, she would love for everyone to wear her favorite colors: sapphire blue, aquamarine and/or teal.
The family would like to thank the staff at Care Partners and St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Sandy. Also, a big thank you to her physician, Rachel Novotny, and Sara from Community Care.
