Ruth C. Spranger (nee Poth), 79, Neenah, formerly of West Allis, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 17, 2010 at Kilkenny House. Ruth was born on October 1, 1930 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Lawrence and Mathilde Poth. Ruth and Robert (Bob) Spranger were united in marriage on August 11, 1962 in Milwaukee. In addition to being a wonderful mother and homemaker, Ruth was employed by West Allis Memorial Hospital for many years as a Switchboard Operator. In her spare time Ruth loved to knit, crochet, and bake. She was a very loving and caring woman who graciously touched the lives of many people. Ruth loved her boys and families very much and she will be deeply missed by all.
Ruth is survived by her children: James (Linda) Spranger, Neenah and Michael (Susan) Spranger, Greendale, WI; and her sisters Jean Strom, Carol Forde, and Doris Piacentine. She loved her grandkids Matthew, Amy, Timothy, John, Thomas, and Daniel very, very much. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Clayton and Mary Ann Spranger, Edina, MN. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Robert; her parents Lawrence and Mathilde Poth; her father and mother-in-law, Emil and Edna Spranger; and her brothers-in-law George Strom, John Forde, and Edward Piacentine.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Calvary Bible Church, 1450 Oakridge Road, Neenah. Pastor Harry Shields will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 – 11:30 AM. Inurnment will take place at Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Ruth's name.
