Ruth A.
Bloy
November 1, 1918 – December 13, 2021
Ruth A. Bloy, of Appleton, formerly of Forest Junction, age 103, died Monday, December 13, 2021 at Heartwood Homes. She was born in Berlin, WI on November 1, 1918 to the late Rev. G.T. and Amolia Neumann- Vieth. Ruth married Lawrence Wink in Center Valley on April 13, 1941. Her father officiated. Lawrence preceded her in death in 1965. She then married Ruben Bloy on September 21, 1969, at Zion United Methodist Church in Forest Junction. He preceded her in death in 2008. Through the years, Ruth farmed with her husbands. She later worked as a cook in both the Brillion and Forest Junction school systems. Ruth's hobbies included crafting and gardening. She was an exceptional cook who always made too much of everything. It was common to have multiple meats, veggies, and desserts at each meal as it was important to her to have everyone's favorite if she was hosting.
Ruth was a faith filled woman that was very involved in Zion United Methodist Church. At her core, she was a loving and generous lady and instilled those traits in those she loved. She lived her life counting her blessings and reminding others that there was always someone that had it worse.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Eric) Fischer of Lena and Mary (Mark) Muthig of Appleton; grandchildren: Tony (Kim) and Adam (Sharon) Fischer, Heidi (Richard) Delzer, and Cynthia Muthig; and great grandchildren: Blake, McCoy, Casey, and Ava Fischer, Kayla and Colin Fischer, Natalie, Hailey, and Lily Delzer. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence Wink and Ruben Bloy; sisters: Ann (Robert) Regal, Elizabeth (Kermit Grey, Walter Gavinski) Grey, and Helen (Jack Nicoud, Tony Verdone) Nicoud-Verdone; brother, Reuben (Ethel) Vieth; and members of Lawrence's and Ruben's families.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 17, 2021, at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH (325 E. Franklin Street, Appleton) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Markus Wegenast officiating. Due to the COVID situation, mask wearing is required at the church.
Committal Forest Home Cemetery, Forest Junction.
Ruth's family extends a special thank you to her caretakers at Heartwood Homes and through the AseraCare Hospice program in Bellevue.
