April 16, 1939 – October 2, 2018
Ronald L. Schampers, Combined Locks, age 79, died at his home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. He was born in Little Chute on April 16, 1939 to the late Ernest and Lorraine (Rutten) Schampers. Ron married Roberta "Bobbie" LaVan at St. John Church on May 15, 1961. Ron was an Army veteran with the 32 nd Division. He worked as a foreman at the Kimberly Mill until his retirement. Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bobbie; his beloved dog, Sophie; children: Lisa (Dale) Wolf, Darboy; Ken (Sandy) Schampers, Darboy; Jaimie Bonzelet, Kaukauna; and Shelly (Doug) Vander Wielen, Darboy; grandchildren: Tyler (Chelsea) and Lauren Wolf; Trevor (fiancée Whitney) and Matt Schampers; Heather (Eric) Peterson, Randi (Adam) Krueger and Mike Bonzelet; and Kimberly (Kyle) Stevens; great grandchildren: Brayden, Ethan, Ben, Aria, Aiden and Gabe and he was excited to have 2 more on the way; sister, Sharon (Merle) Schuh; and brother-in-law, Pete Janssen. He is further survived by other relatives, neighbors and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his infant grandson; mother-in-law, Lillian Thill; sister, Marlene Janssen; and brother-in-law, David Hughes.
