Obituary

Ronald H. "Tor" Nytes, age 72, of Hollandtown, passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at St. Paul Home. Ron was born on March 1, 1939 in Kaukauna, the son of Herbert and Eleanor (Coenen) Nytes. Ron was united in marriage to Mary Kay Strick on October 10, 1964 at St. Paul Parish in Combined Locks. As a young man, Ron was always interested in how things worked. He began his working career as a mechanic at Gustman in Kaukauna and later worked as a mechanic and drove bus for Kobussen Buses. He retired from Kobussen Buses in 2004. In his younger years, Tor enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, catching a good race on television, and driving charter for the Packer games. In his spare time, you could always find him tinkering in the garage with man's best friend, Buddy, always by his side. He was a proud member of the Town of Holland Volunteer Fire Department, for which he served 39 years. Ron was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish – Hollandtown.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Kay; two daughters: Katie (special friend Bud Milheiser) Nytes of Greenville and Sara Nytes of Little Chute; grandson Michael Janz; and brother and sister-in-law: Joseph (Lynn) Strick and Jennifer (Dennis) Schubring. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his sister: Mary (Robert) Kramer; and father and mother-in-law: Joseph and Sylvia Strick.

The funeral liturgy for Ron will be held on Friday, January 20, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH – ST. FRANCIS CHURCH (433 County Road CE) with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. A private family gathering will take place following the service.

The family would like to extend many heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Werner for his kindness and compassionate care of Ron through the years. Thank you to the very special staff at St. Paul Home, St. Paul Hospice, the Kaukauna Dialysis Center, and most recently, Dr. Julie Abboud.
