Ronald R.
Diemel, Sr.
December 4, 1948 – January 11, 2025
Ronald R. Diemel, age 76, of Menasha, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease on Saturday, January 11, 2025. He was born in Shawano on December 4, 1948, son of the late Shirley Niemuth and Lloyd Diemel. Ron married the love of his life, Bonnie Schuessler, on January 18, 1969. They had many adventures together over the next 56 years, from Auto Clean Specialists and Mill Valley Pub to Hank's Tavern and Valley Construction, of which is now ran by his son, Ron, Jr., "Butch", upon Ron's retirement. Ron had a love for cars and motorcycles, having many throughout his life. This love was a bonus for his kids in their younger years, as they could be found racing dirt bikes or cars (Cindy often found on the fastest ones because she was the youngest). He enjoyed stopping out at the shop to see what Butch was working on, spending time at WIR with Dan and Cindy, spending time with his grandchildren, and going to the camper.
Ron is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children: Ron, Jr., "Butch" (Melanie), of Shiocton, and Cindy (Dan) Hansen, of Menasha; his grandchildren: Lindsey (Luis) Diemel, of Neenah; Ronald Diemel III, of Shiocton; Mason (Maria) Hansen, of Menasha; and Madisyn (Copter) Hansen, of Menasha. He is further survived by his siblings and siblings-in-law: Connie (John) Krull, of Appleton; Glen, Jr., (Linda) Niemuth, of Appleton; Vicki (Bob) Kumbier, of Pickett; Kim Niemuth, of Pickett; Richard (Corrine) Schuessler, of Hilbert; and Joe Bednarowski, of Appleton; his extended family: Chris, Jenny, Becky, and Cindy Smith, Brian "Rufus" Sturn, and Mel John; his Godchildren: Jeremiah Luben and Josh Smith; two of his closest friends, Bob Fox and Dale Jost; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley (Glen) Niemuth and Lloyd Diemel; his brother, Terry (Connie) Diemel; mother-in-law, Bernice Schuessler; brothers-in-law, Ken and Don Joas; and extended family Bill Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held January 25, 2025 at CITY LIMITS (544 4th Street, Menasha) beginning at 2:00 p.m. and concluding at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
Ron, my love, I'm holding you in my heart until you can hold me again in heaven.
All my love,
Bonnie
Thank you, Cindy, for all the support and care you gave Dad and the many hours at his side.
Love,
Mom
Dad, you will forever be our hero and the strongest person we know. You fought this until the end. Don't worry, we have Mom now and we will take care of her.
We love you always & forever,
Butch and Cindy
To all Ron's friends over the years (and there are many), just know his stories and "union meetings" were so much better with all of you in them. He had a special place for each one of you. To all the neighbors and campground friends, thank you for all your help over the years. We can't express enough appreciation. And to his doctors and staff at Edenbrook of Appleton, your care and compassion was above and beyond.
