Sundblom
July 30, 1935 – January 19, 2021
Appleton - Roger A Sundblom, age 85, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 19, 2020, a victim of the COVID pandemic. He was born to the late Norman and Eloise (McIntyre) Sundblom on July 30, 1935 in Evanston, IL. Roger graduated from Evanston High School in 1955. He was an active member of the school diving team for one year. Then he discovered money, working at a florist in the winter and tree trimmer during the summer.
In 1956, Roger started an apprenticeship as a tool and die maker. Upon completion of his apprenticeship, Roger worked for GAF as model maker for 12 years, designing and building models for photographic equipment. He then started his own business, Specialized Repair Service, repairing metal projects for antique dealers and collectors until his retirement in 2018.
He married Diane Vlahos on June 21, 1958. Together they had one daughter, Amy Joy.
Roger is survived by his ex-wife, Diane and two granddaughters, Lauren and Emily Olson.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his daughter Amy and brother James.
A private celebration of Roger's life will be held at a later date.
