Roger W.
Hohn
March 15, 1929 – April 22, 2017
Roger W. Hohn, Kaukauna, age 88, is now pain free. God welcomed him into eternity on Saturday, April 22, 2017. He was born in Gresham on March 15, 1929 to the late Harold and Meta (Krueger) Hohn. Roger served in the Korean Conflict as a forward observer, one of the most dangerous positions to be assigned to. He married LaVonne Piehl in Tilleda on February 20, 1960. Through the years, he worked as a salesman at numerous area automobile dealerships. Roger loved to dance and he and LaVonne enjoyed many years of dancing together. He loved flowers and gardening. Roger spent many hours in his yard, cultivating his lush and healthy lawn. He also made sure the many birds and squirrels in his yard were well fed. Roger could always be counted on to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was a long time member of Bethany Lutheran Church and served as an elder and usher in addition to participating in bible studies.
Roger is survived by his wife of 57 years, LaVonne; children: Kevin (Trish) of Minneapolis; Janis (Rod Quaintenance) of Kaukauna; granddaughters: Kiara Hohn and Marina Norby; brothers: James (Germaine), Floyd (Lavonne) and Harlan (Bonnie); sister: Joyce (Charles) List; and brother and sisters-in-law: John (Darlene) Lange and Judy Hohn. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will also be missed by his furry friends, Tom and Jerry.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Duane Hohn; and father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Molly Piehl.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH (124 W. 10
th
St. Kaukauna) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Levi Willms and Rev. Walter Steinbach will officiate.
