And on the 8th day God looked down on his planned paradise and said, "I need a caretaker." So God made a farmer.
On Friday, August 31st 2018, God looked down on this paradise and said, "Your work on earth is finished." God called Roger home following his battle with heart disease. In his final days, he was surrounded by the love of his wife Arlene, children, and grandchildren. Roger Alan Bruecker was born in Green Bay on January 11, 1929 to the late George and Ceil (Brochtrup) Bruecker. He married the love of his life, Arlene Kempen at St. Paul Parish in Wrightstown on October 11, 1951. Roger loved farming, fishing, and hunting. He adored his wife, loved his children, and could not get enough of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his wife of 66 years, Arlene; children: Linda (Jim) Krautkramer, Plymouth; Rick (Sandy) Bruecker, Greenleaf; Chris (Terry) Ederer, Kaukauna; Pat Bruecker, Neenah; Mike (Jenni) Bruecker, Greenleaf; and Marty (Shelly) Bruecker, Greenleaf; grandchildren: Kevin (Rebekah) Krautkramer, Stacey (Tom) Fedderly, Keith Krautkramer, Eric (Catie) Krautkramer, Jason (Becky) Bruecker, Samantha (Kevin) Miller, Jeremy (Stephanie) Bruecker, Justine (Nick) Brochtrup, Kasey (Eric Trunk) Ederer, Jonathan Bruecker, Britini (Tyler) Malueg, Angel, Hunter, Sierra, Savannah, Natasha, Wyatt, Jacob, and Danielle Bruecker; great grandchildren: Violet Krautkramer, Taylor, Kyla, Ashley, and Jayden Fedderly, James and Rowyn Krautkramer, Hannah, Ben and Wesley Bruecker, Grace Miller, Lincoln and Grant Bruecker, Ryker Malueg, and Autumn Frisch; siblings: Gerald (Bernice) Bruecker and Georgiana "Babe" (Bill) McGinnis; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Ceil Kempen, Harold Kempen, Sue Datta, Lorna Van Handel, Janice (Erv) Nettekoven, Lavern (Dave) Wiegert and Gerald (Geri) Kempen. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Ederer; father and mother-in-law: Peter and Marie Kempen; siblings: Grace (Nick) Ruys and Beatrice (Frank) Van Lanen; and brothers and sister-in-law: Marvin, Paul, Boniface (Ann), Dick Kempen, and Wilfred Van Handel.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 6, 2018 at ST. CLARE PARISH – ST. PATRICK CHURCH (7815 St. Pat's Church Rd. Greenleaf) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Mass will follow at 12:00 Noon. The Rev. Brian Wideman will officiate. Committal St. Patrick Cemetery, Askeaton.
