Robert J.
Wittmann
June 28, 1929 – August 23, 2022
Bob Wittmann passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 peacefully at the age of 93 with his family by his side. Dad was able to watch his final sunset from his apartment balcony on the river, the night before his death. Dad was born on the river and he wanted to die on the river. He got his wish! He was born in Little Chute on June 28, 1929 to the late Harlan and Nellie (Siebers) Wittmann. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Through his life, Bob always held two jobs to provide for his family. He worked as a rural mail carrier for over 30 years. After retirement from the Postal Service, he earned his real estate license and became the vice president of Gordon Realty. He enjoyed bartending at the Out-O-Town Supper Club for 20+ years. Bob was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Fox Valley Golf Club. He married Berla Steck in 1993. She preceded him in death on September 17, 2017.
Bob is survived by his children: Kay (Mike) Gloudemans, Little Chute; Mary (Doug) Smith, Kaukauna; Jon (Beth) Wittmann, Menasha; and Amy (Ron) Buchinger, Darboy; Berla's children: Julia (John) Edwards, Scott Edwards, Jill (Lionel) Edwards-Susini; grandchildren: Jill (Adam) Klein, Tony Gloudemans, Charlie (Abby) Smith, Hailee (Al) Wydeven, Sarah (Marc) Egeland, Willie Wittmann, Mitchell Wittmann, Alex (Emily) Buchinger, Reid (fiancée Jodie Platzke) Buchinger, Samuel Buchinger, Ana Rae Clark, and David Torres, Allie Gorton, Justin Gorton, Anna Susini, and Zach Susini; great grandchildren: Emma, Leon, Hunter, Alayna, Nora, Harvey, and Oliver (and was looking forward to the arrival of Baby B in December), Kennedy, Khloe, Anthony, Lilly; and siblings: Joyce Czarnowski, Carol Pankratz, Rosemary Ramos, and Roger (Sarah) Wittmann. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter Ann Wittmann; and brothers-in-law: Lennie Zarnowski, Jack Pankratz, and Jorge Ramos.
