Robert L.
Vanhulst
August 16, 1963 – January 11, 2020
Robert L. VanHulst (Bodie), 56, of Appleton passed away after a three week battle with cancer on January 11 th , 2020. He was born August 16th, 1963, son of the late Robert VanHulst and Carol VanHulst (Huse). Bob married the love of his life Julie Wieringa, August 24th, 2019 in front of all of their dearest friends and family at their favorite place-Wildlife Campground.
Bob will always be remembered as the man who would do anything for anyone. If Bob couldn't fix it, no one could. He had a career as a general foreman at CD products in Appleton for the last 25 years making flooring. Not only was he a hardworking man, he devoted all of his free time to his family and grandchildren, as he would call them his "rug-rats" and never missed greeting them with treats and candy. Bob enjoyed watching his Green Bay Packers every game day with Julie, either out with friends or in "Perkins Street Pub" as they would call it, and was close to a professional at fantasy football. Bob and Julie spent the last four years having the time of their life at their camper at Wildlife Campground and met friends that turned into family. Every weekend they spent their time around a fire, or cruising in their golf cart. It truly was their happiest place together.
Bob is survived by his wife, Julie VanHulst; two sons: Robert VanHulst (Brenda Radaj) and Nicholas Wieringa; daughter, Brittany Wieringa (Kenneth Nelson); and grandchildren: Jeff, Colton, Hunter, Emilia and Everlie. He is further survived by his brother, Terry VanHulst (Carrie Linssen); sister, Char Krahn (Wedge Krahn); mother-in-law, Beverly Wieringa; brother-in-law, Robert Wieringa (Lorie-Ann Wieringa); sister-in-law, Dawn Boldt (Brian Boldt); many nieces and nephews, the Wildlife family, and his best friend, Lyle Marier.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, Robert VanHulst; mother, Carol VanHulst Huse; step-father, Jack Huse; and father-in-law, Archie Wieringa.
A celebration of life will be held the same day as Bob's planned benefit, Saturday, February 8th, 2020 at CAPITOL CENTRE (725 West Capitol Drive Appleton, Wisconsin) from 5 pm until 9 pm with a band starting at 8 pm.
Special thank you to the staff at St Elizabeth Cancer Center for doing the best they could.
Your life was a blessing,
Your memory a treasure,
You are loved beyond words
And missed beyond measure....
