Robert D.
Strelow, Sr.
February 12, 1950 – March 1, 2022
Robert D. Strelow, Sr., Black Creek, died with his family by his side on March 1, 2022, at the age of 72. He was born in Appleton on February 12, 1950. On June 7, 1980, Robert married Victoria A. Calder at St. Bernard's Church in Appleton. Robert had many hobbies throughout his life, some of which include being a certified scuba diver, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a BSA/Merit Badge Counsellor. Robert was an avid golfer, winning some trophies for first place, one for last place, and one he made himself for a Hole-In-One on Hole #4 at Irish Waters Golf Course, witnessed by the Foursome. Robert was a proud member of the NRA, and also a member of the Appleton Rifle and Pistol Club for 45 years, 10 of which he spent as a Junior Rifle Club Director.
After graduating from Appleton West High School in 1968, he started work at Presto Products. He worked his way up from the entry level work to the Project Department and later in the Parts Department, where he was the Parts Room Coordinator. In total, Robert worked there for 47 years, retiring with the second-most seniority at the time.
Robert is survived by his wife of 41 years, Victoria, and his son, Robert D. Strelow, Jr., of Black Creek. He is further survived by his close friends: Tom and Pam Vils, and Brenda A. Meyer, who have shown to be the best examples of friends, being supportive on good times and bad. The family is blessed to have them in their lives.
Robert is preceded in death by his lifelong friends Guy Gordon and Vernon Romsos, and many fellow members of the Appleton Rifle and Pistol Club.
Robert's family will have a private celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you plant a shrub or tree in memory of Robert, or to give to your local food bank.
