Obituary

Robert L. Scheer, 82, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born in Lombard, IL on March 4, 1933, son of the late Edwin and Nelda (Hillger) Scheer. He graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in economics. On July 24, 1971 he married the love of his life, Donna Twomey.

Bob worked for many years for the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Master, camp counselor and director. He also worked for Bethesda in Watertown. After moving to the Fox Valley, he owned and operated Tastee Freeze Restaurant, B&D's Pizza, and R.L. Scheer Photography with his wife Donna, eventually retiring. He then drove for Kobussen Bus Lines as a coach bus driver. Bob enjoyed volunteering as a driver for Make-A-Ride Happen, wood working, learning about history and traveling, especially visits to Door County, and the library.

Bob is survived by his special friend, Pam Warber, of Appleton; five children and their families; Steven (Debbie) Twomey of Maricopa, AZ and their children Holly, Jason and Mike; Kaye Twomey of New London, and her daughter Betsy; David Twomey of Mt. Juliet, TN, and his children, Lexis and Austen; Connie Daul of New London, and her sons Luke, Adam and Kurt; Paula (Dan) Markert of Neenah and their son, Eric; 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Janet (Gil) Lofye; and sister-in-law Janet Branish. He is further survived by three daughters from a previous marriage, Nancy, Catherine, Laura and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; and son, Scotty.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) from 11 am until the time of service at 1 pm, with Rev. Stephen Savides officiating.

The family would like to thank Dr. Guenther, Dr. Swanson and the staff on the 7th floor at Appleton Medical Center for their compassionate care and support. The family also wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Pam Warber for always being there when Bob needed her most. She was our "Earthly Angel", and we could not have survived this without her.

Bob touched so many lives with his kindness, caring, compassion and endless sense of humor. Rest in peace dear man until we meet again...
