Obituary

Robert Lee Reffke, Kimberly, age 86, died Friday, February 7, 2025, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton.  He was born on June 15, 1938, to the late William and Winifred (Peebles) Reffke.  Robert served in the U.S. Navy form 1956-59.  He married Judith Jansen on February 4, 1961, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.  She preceded him in death on September 5, 2024.

Robert loved music and played the humstrum and harmonica.  He also enjoyed woodworking, dancing, camping, and playing card games, especially cribbage and sheephead.  Above all, he treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his children:  Dan Reffke of Kimberly; Wendy (Dale) Bougie of Freedom; Bruce (Molly) Reffke of Freedom; and Todd (special friend Kim Wendling) Reffke of Freedom; grandchildren:  Jeremiah (Becca) and Tyler (Katie) Reffke; Whitney (Jake) Kittredge and Cassie (Zach) Genke; Adam (Jazmine) and Zoey (fiancé Tyler Phillips) Reffke; Crystal (fiancé Joe Sagar), Weston, and Riley Reffke; great grandchildren:  Brynn, Rylan, Hayes, Lincoln, and Colton; Charlie, Nathan, and Lyla; Weston, James, and Brayden; Von and Dane; brothers:  Bill Reffke and Keith (Jan) Reffke; and brothers and sisters-in-law:  Tom (Ann) Jansen, Jay Lamers, Sue (Jim) Hermans and Sharon Jansen.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, and wife Judy, Robert was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law:  Cornelius and Josephine (Heinz) Jansen; brother, Lee James Reffke; and brothers and sisters-in-law:  Jack Jansen, Kay Lamers, Carolyn (Wally) Braun, Jane Reffke, and Ruth Ann (Rollie) Mosher.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025, at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.  Robert's Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald Belitz officiating.  Military honors, conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258, will immediately follow.  Committal St. John Cemetery.
