Robert J. Portman, De Pere, age 66, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 16, 2026. He was born in Kaukauna, on June 16, 1960, to the late Joseph and Frances (Grissman) Portman. Robert retired from Pierce Manufacturing in 2022 after more than 20 years of service. He enjoyed sitting on his porch watching the birds and wildlife in his backyard that he fed daily. Bob loved working on old cars, and took great pride in his 1967 Nova.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Christina; siblings: Alan (Marilyn) Portman, Karen (Bob) Van Den Heuvel, Mary (Jerry) Wittmann, Tom (Karen) Portman, Joe (Karen) Portman, and David Portman; and former spouse, Nancy Portman. He is further survived by members of Nancy’s family (the Bill and Ruth Theunis family of Wrightstown), nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister Cindy, and her husband, Rod Tepolt; his in-laws, Bill and Ruth Theunis; and Betsy Martin. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. His Funeral will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon Ken Kabat officiating.
