Obituary

Robert "Bob" Fritsch, age 74, died in Appleton on Sunday, December 19, 2021. He was born to the late Arthur and Marie (Novak) Fritsch on December 22, 1946. Bob married Helen Micke-Bain at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Wrightstown on December 15, 1972. Following Bob's graduation from West De Pere High School in 1965, he joined the Air Force with his high school friend, the late Ron Vieau. He was stationed in Hawaii as an aircraft mechanic. After leaving the service, Bob went to Packerland Trucking for three years. On January 1, 1973, he bought his father's milk route, of which he hauled for 42 years until his retirement in 2015.

Bob was a very generous man, with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed woodworking and making projects for his family, going up north, and most of all, spending time with his 14 grandkids. He loved BSing with his coffee buddies and friends, and spoiling his doggies, especially his dog Wilson. Bob was also a member of the Urban Klister American Legion Post 436.

Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helen; his children: Nick (fiancée Michelle) Fritsch, Lee (Brenda) Fritsch, Staci (Bob) Maass, Toni (Brian) Ver Voort, and Amanda (Paul) Patschke; and his grandchildren: Ry and Ian Fritsch; Sam, Abby, and Ben Fritsch; Dillon (fiancee Erin),  Kara, and Emma Jean Maass; Brianna(special friend Kruz),Grant, Alicia and Brock Ver Voort; and Annabel and Cole Patschke. Bob is further survived by his siblings: Jerome (Carol) Fritsch, Pat (Joe) Rickert, Le Roy (Mary Lou) Fritsch, Nancy (Bob) Van Boxtel, Carol Appleton, and Chuck (Connie) Fritsch; his siblings-in-law: Sandy Fritsch, Margaret Smet, Rosie Van Eperen, Carol (Jerry) Ederer, Patty (Bob) Gerend, Betty (Charles) Headings, Robert Micke, Mary (Jim) Micke-Dickrell, Kathy (Paul) Miller, Bill (Jean) Micke, and Delores Micke; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his infant brother, Larry; his brother, Bernie Fritsch; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Bob Ludwig; brother-in-law, Clark Appleton; his parents-in-law, Norbert and Elizabeth (Spierings) Micke; and his siblings-in-law: Eugene Micke, Marian and Brian Grode, Clarence Smet, and Gerald Van Eperen.

Visitation for Bob will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH (312 S. State Street, Appleton), beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon with the Rev. William Swichtenberg officiating, along with Deacon Jeff Hofacker. Following Mass, military rites will be conducted by the Urban Klister American Legion Post 436. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wounded Warriors Project.
