Obituary

Richard L. "Pat" Patrick, Appleton, age 81, died Monday, April 10th, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born in Kimberly on January 27th, 1942 to the late William and Gertrude (Sobiesczyk) Patrick, Sr. Pat enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17 and was based in Norfolk, VA, proudly serving his country on the US Vulcan during the Cuban Missile Crisis. One day in Washington DC, he met his future wife on an elevator and the rest is history, they were married in DC on September 29th, 1962 and have been married for 62 years. After his discharge they moved to Kimberly and started a family. He proudly opened his 40+ year carpet installation business with his friend and business partner Carl Brown. Upon retirement, Pat and Fran enjoyed their trailer "up north" where they spent time fishing, campfires and visiting his park friends, always with his coffee mug in hand. Pat also took up wood turning where he spend hours turning bowls, pens and various items. He valued the time he spent with his wood turning club friends.

Pat is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances; children:  Tina (Mike) Pastorelli and Mark Patrick; grandchildren: Nick (Chloe) Pastorelli and Alissa (fiancé James Dictus) Pastorelli; brothers:  Bill (Carol) Patrick and James Patrick; and sisters-in-law:  Joyce Larson and Cynthia Travers.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Russel and Madeline Vargus; sister, Judy Collins; and brother-in-law, Robert Travers.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) beginning at 4:00 p.m. until time of Funeral at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Lynn Martin officiating.  Military honors, conducted by the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319 and American Legion Post 41, will immediately follow.
