Richard J. Berkers, Kaukauna, age 68 died Monday August 2, 2010 at Cherry Meadows. He was born June 17, 1942 in Appleton to the late Anton and Cecilia (Graf) Berkers. Dick served his country in the Marine Corps. He married Penny A. Twiss on October 21, 1991 at their home in Kaukauna. He enjoyed outdoor pursuits, including golfing, camping, boating and tending to his roses. Dick was a two-time president of the Kaukauna Jaycees as well as a past member of the Rotary and Kiwanis clubs.

Dick is survived by his wife, Penny; children: Christopher (Sandy) Berkers, Kaukauna; Annette (Harlowe A.) Rowe, Kimberly; Corey Berkers, Kaukauna; Peter Wyne, Kaukauna; and Shannon (Michael) Schilling, California; grandchildren: Emily Berkers, Miranda King and Harlowe R. Rowe; sister Judith Lamberies; mother-in-law Evelyn Twiss; brothers and sisters-in-law: Mary (Roger) Parent, Sandy (John) Larsen and Donna (Kevin) O'Connor; many close friends ; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday August 5, 2010 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer St. Kaukauna). The Rev. Jerry Pastors will officiate. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery. Military rites conducted by the VFW Post 3319 will immediately follow Mass.

It was Dick's wish that in lieu of flowers, gifts of toys be contributed to the local hospitals children's departments.
