Raymond L. Borree, Kaukauna, age 96, died Sunday, December 18, 2016. He was born in Sherwood on January 27, 1920 to the late Louis and Bertha (Haase) Borree. Raymond married Janet Helf on August 23, 1947 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Kaukauna. She preceded him in death on June 23, 2015 after 67 years of marriage. Ray was an Army veteran serving in the 17th Armored Engineer Battalion in Africa and Europe. He worked at Thilmany Papers until his retirement in 1982. Ray enjoyed yard work, cutting grass, fishing at the cottage on Crane Lake and tinkering in his garage. He designed and built his own home. In the last few years he was a fan of drag racing at WIR.
Ray is survived by his children: Rick (Marilyn) of Little Chute; Laurie (Patrick) Flynn of Darboy; and Sue (Casey) Rheinlaender of Keller, TX; grandchildren: Matt and Erin Kovalski and Clayton Rheinlaender; sister: Millie Beford; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Irene Borree, Dick, Jerry, Tom (Judy) , Kathy Helf and Nancy Peterson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, Janet, and parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his siblings: Elizabeth (Hugo) Deno, Otto (Alice), Herman (Alexia), Alfred, Wally (Caroline), Harry (Ruth), Rueben, Louis (Rose), Art and Ralph Borree; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob Beford, Hank Peterson, Bob (Betty), Jim (Dottie), Belle and Shari Helf.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2016 at IMMANUEL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST (510 Sullivan Ave. Kaukauna) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Gail Irwin will officiate. Military rites conducted by the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319 will immediately follow. Committal Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
