Paul R. Nettekoven, Kaukauna, age 84, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021. He was born in Appleton on December 20, 1936 to the late Victor and Ruth (Schmalz) Nettekoven. On April 29, 1961, Paul married Margaret Van Dyke at St. Mary's Church in Kaukauna. They had celebrated their 60th anniversary earlier this year. Paul was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country for four years. He then spent the majority of his career at Thilmany's, working as a sheeter operator for 32 years, and later worked at Precision Paper Converting for 10 years.
Paul was a faithful man with a great sense of humor and was willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Family was very important and friends were always made to feel like family. He loved playing games, going out to eat and took much pride in his yard and garden. For many years he enjoyed time spent on Lake Poygan at his brother's cottage, fishing and boating.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; his children: Carol (Stewart) Neff, Kaukauna; Gary (fiancée Amy Roskom) Nettekoven, Oshkosh; and Mark (Susan) Nettekoven, Little Chute; his grandchildren: Kayla (Jacob) Cappelle ; Edward Neff; Tana (Jeff) Ascher; Heather (Adam) DeSombre; Sarah (Jay) Frater; Brandon, Alyssa and Courtney Roskom and great grandchildren: Lily, Ava, Kaitlyn, Carter, Abigale, Harmony, Melody, Sierrah, Liam, and Rylan. Paul is further survived by his siblings: Thomas (Mary Ann) Nettekoven; Daniel Nettekoven; and Mary Lu (Dale) Busse; along with his siblings-in-law: Donna Nettekoven and Dale (Margie) Van Dyke.
In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by two infant brothers, David and Gerald; his brother Richard Nettekoven; his mother and father-in-law, Harold and Anita (Sager) Van Dyke; and three nephews, William, James and Chad Nettekoven.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 15, 2021, at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna), beginning at 12:00 Noon until time of Mass at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319 and American Legion Post 41 will immediately follow. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery.
