W. Paul Harper, age 82, Freedom, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Oakridge Gardens, Menasha. He was born in Neenah to the late Willis "Boots" Harper and Milly (Schultz) Harper. Upon graduation from Menasha High he enlisted in the U.S Army, serving a year in Japan during the Korean Conflict. On August 20, 1955, he was united in marriage to Elaine Zilisch and recently celebrated their 59th anniversary.
After working 15 years for Gilbert Paper Company he moved on to other jobs, retiring in Naples, FL after managing Leeward Cove Condominiums for 10 years. He was an avid Packer fan and attended the Ice Bowl. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and kept his competitive edge until the end.
Paul is survived by his wife, Elaine; son, Chuck Harper; daughters, Shawn (Steve) Pennings, Jane (Bob) Heckler and Paula (Mark) Skenandore; grandchildren, Jessica (Marty) Syring, Bill (Oksana "Roxy") Harper, Jillian Harper, Cory (Trish) Skenandore and Ryan (Ashley) Skenandore; great grandchildren, Ella, Emily, Blake, Alana, Lilly, Ethan and a baby girl due in May.
He is also survived by brother-in-law, Ken (Mary Jo) Zillisch, sisters-in-law, Joan Koslowski, Carrie (Bill) Stuck, Chrissy (Ken) Gambsky and Charlie (Chuck) Groff as well as many other nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed the company of his two cats, Oscar and Gus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy (Joe) Kolasinski; mother and father in-law, Gertrude and Viler Zillisch and brother in-law, John Koslowski.
Visitation will be held at ST. EDWARD THE CONFESSOR PARISH (N2926 State Road 47, Mackville) on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 9:30 am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11 am with Rev.
