Patricia C. "Patti" Zimmer, Grand Chute, age 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, after a long and difficult journey with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, on August 5, 1938 to the late Norbert and Eileen (Randerson) Van Wychen. Patti married Frederick E. Zimmer on August 31, 1976. Together, they enjoyed time spent at the cottage in Crooked Lake. Later, they camped at Pine Grove and Fawn Lake. Patti loved dogs and for many years taught dog owners how to train their dogs at Winnegamie Dog Club. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed embroidery.
Patti is survived by her children: Dan (Ann) Wynboom and Kathi (Randy) Sanders; grandchildren: Andrew Wynboom, Danielle Wynboom, Chris (Megan) Verbeten, Kayla (Jeff) Hooper, Nathan (Sara) Sanders, Brian (Rachel) Sanders, and Amanda (Lon) Ellingsen; great grandchildren: Carter Verbeten, Wilhelmina Sanders, Blake Diedrick, Penelope Sanders, Chase Sanders, and Lily Ellingsen; sister: Luanne (Tim) Brinkman; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Carol (Steve Reed) Zimmer and Dan (Teresa) Zimmer. She is further survived by her former husband, Cletus Wynboom, Fred's children and grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Patti was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Frederick; father and mother-in-law, Jacob and Edith (Schwalen) Zimmer; brother, Tom (Mary Pat) Van Wychen; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Joyce Van Wychen, Rita (Richard) Gruentzel, Francis (Beverly), Edward, James/Fr. Elllis, and Paul (Patricia) Zimmer.
In accordance with Patti's wishes, a private family service will be held. She will be laid to rest next to Fred at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Freedom.
Patti's family would like to thank the staff, caregivers, and volunteers at St. Paul's Elder Services and St. Paul's Hospice for the loving and compassionate care she received.
