February 11, 1939 – April 14, 2022
Nancy J. Klarner, Town of Buchanan, age 83, passed away with her family at her side on Thursday, April 14, 2022. She was born in Seymour WI on February 11, 1939 to the late Walter and Anna (Burmeister) Blohm. Nancy graduated from Seymour High School in 1957 and worked at Doepkers Bakery, IGA Grocery Store, and Seymour Canning Company. She married Melvin Klarner at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on April 26, 1958. Nancy belonged to 4-H and Open Class for many years. She volunteered at Zion Lutheran Church, serving on many committees, working in the office, and teaching Sunday School for many years. Nancy was an active member of the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60 Ladies Auxiliary where she was Chaplain, Sergeant at Arms, and President.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Melvin; children: Wayne (Jane), Linda (Gary) Parker, Bruce (Cindy), Karen (Bruce) Fischer; daughter-in-law, Shelly Klarner; grandchildren: Michael (Lacy) and Jennifer Parker, Sarah (Lance) Beckerson, Rachel (Bradley) Hietpas, Melissa and Nicole Fischer, Chaunte (Justin) Geitner, and Eric Green; great grandchildren: Liana, Viktor, and Aria Hietpas, Paxton and Zane Beckerson, Oriana and Adalia Geitner; siblings: Leland (Betty) Blohm and Shirley Vanden Berg; and sister-in-law, Rosella Laabs. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Keith; grandson, Tony Green; brother, Alvin (Florine) Blohm; and brother-in-law: Donald Vanden Berg. She was also preceded in death by Mel's parents, Edward and Christine (Ullman) Klarner; his brothers: Ed (Betty), Bob (Lucy), Herb (Gladys), Norman (Betty), and Norbert Klarner; his sisters: Mildred (Clyde) Campbell and Marie De Keyser; and his brother-in-law Bob Laabs.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a prayer service at 10:50 a.m. followed by the Funeral at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Leon Knitt officiating. Committal Highland Memorial Park with Pastor Catherine Burnett officiating.
