Myron "Mike" Ebben, 81, Little Chute died in New Mexico unexpectedly on Sunday January 1, 2012. He was born in Mackville on August 4, 1930. Mike married Rosalie Lamers on August 8, 1951 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute. He was an Army veteran, stationed in Alaska, and was a member and past Commander of the Jacob Coppus American Legion #258. Mike worked at Giddings and Lewis Foundry in Kaukauna and Neenah Foundry. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and his past position with Wisconsin's DNR. Mike enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage and sheephead. He was also known to hustle a good game of pool now and then.
Mike is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosalie; children: Ronald (friend Debbie), Neenah; Marilyn (Fred) Van Handel, Little Chute; Steven (friend Cathy), Goodyear, AZ; and Bill (Julie), Appleton; grandchildren: Amanda and Andrew Ebben, Amelia and Rebecca Van Handel; sister and brothers: Lillian Kolmos, Jim (Judy) and Fran (Joann); and sisters and brothers-in-law: Delores Ebben, Marion Piepkorn, Robert (Els) Lamers, Gladys (Mark) Hietpas, Pat (Lloyd) Vandehey and Bev (Charles) Goodman. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his son Michael J. Ebben; and brothers and sister: Virgil and Harvey Ebben and Evelyn Peters.
Visitation will be held Saturday January 7, 2011 at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer St. Kaukauna) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:15 p.m. The Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen will officiate. Military honors conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
