Mildred H. (Pennings) Jansen, Little Chute, 89, passed away on Friday, the tenth of December, 2010. She was born October 28, 1921, the daughter of the late Arthur and Rose (Hermsen) Pennings. Millie graduated from St. John High School in 1939. She married Robert J. Jansen on May 1, 1943 in Santa Rosa, CA where he was stationed for tour of duty during WWII. Millie was employed at various places and retired from Jack's Pizza. She was a lifetime member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute and was a real "prayer warrior", considering it her purpose in life, praying every day for each person in need. Millie also had been a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258 Ladies Auxiliary, Fox Valley Golf Club, various bowling leagues, Girl Scout leader, Den mother and a parent volunteer for school activities. Millie loved spending time with family, shaking dice, playing cards, going up north to the cottages, watching the Packers and listening to the Brewer games on the radio.
Survived by her children and their spouses: Dennis (Judi) Jansen, Vicki (Bruce) Hammen, Mary (Ron) Vosters, Carol (Kerry) Seiltz, and Lori (Kevin) Kons; 16 grandchildren: Michelle (Mark) Stuyvenberg, Chris (Debbie) Jansen, Bobbi (Scott) LaBorde, Adam (Laura) and Phil (Jenna) Hammen, Leah (Dylan) Hilbert, Sarah (Mark) Vander Linden, Bill (Sue), Luke (Heather) and Rod (friend Angela) Vosters, Mark (Kate), Gregg (Mary Jo) and Kelly Seiltz, Robert (friend Melissa), Kayla and Ross Kons; 19 great-grandchildren: Jessica, Katelyn, Luke, Erin, Amanda, Brittany, Ella, Mason, Sam, Saryn, Ashton, Veronica, Ashlyn, Justin, Josie, Amelia, Cooper, Taylor and Owen; brother Joe (Cassie) Pennings; sisters: Rosemary Pennings, Ethel Niesz, Margaret Zornow and Clara Dercks; sisters-in-law: Marilyn Pennings and Grace Jansen; and many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, neighbors and friends.
In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her infant sister Theresa; husband Robert; brother Art Pennings; brothers-in-law Jack Niesz, Bill Zornow and Gene Dercks; her mother and father-in-law Ann and Albert Jansen; her brothers and sisters-in-law: Glen and Eva Jansen, Shirley and Syl Lamers, Richard Jansen and Ruth DeBruin-Hinton.
Visitation will be held Tuesday December 14, 2010 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Lawrence Canavera will officiate. Committal St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
