"Mike" (Floyd
Michael) Syring
September 23, 1934 – July 23, 2022
On Saturday July 23, 2022, "Mike" (Floyd Michael) Syring got his eternal wish to be with the Lord (two months shy of his 88th birthday). He is survived by his wife, Delia (Dietzen) Syring; children: Jeff (Margie) Syring, Cindy (Chuck) Sharp, Mark (significant other Kathy) Syring, Linda (significant other Brian) Kappel, and Susan (Terry) Stevens; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law: Theresa Glasnap, Mary Berken, and Lorraine Shreurs; and special neighbor and friend, "Nettie."
He was preceded in death by parents: Ray and Cecilia (Spielbauer) Syring; daughter, Dell Syring; son, Roy Syring; siblings: Margie (Orville) Weyenberg, Betty (Ed) Hooyman, Rita Anunson, and Tom Syring; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Norbert Dietzen, Lu Glasnap, Bob Shreurs, and Dale Berken.
Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed hunting out west, as well as his many trips made to Minnesota and Canada with his friends and family. Mike was also a card player, taking part in many games, especially enjoying cribbage with his grandson Randy, his son-in-law Chuck, and his grandchildren. There were numerous poker games played in the home with fellow gamblers.
Mike's love for dogs lasted his whole life; when nothing else could make him smile, a visit with a dog would. As a young man, Mike played tennis and baseball, and fondly remembered winning a watch in a high school tennis tournament. He bowled in leagues for many years, and later picked up golfing. For Mike, anything was a challenge, and his competitive nature game him the drive to excel in all that he did.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. at APPLE VALLEY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (1750 Olde Buggy Road, Neenah) with Pastor John Hartley officiating. Memorials to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital may be made in Mike's name.
