Michael J. Eberhard, Appleton, age 68, died at his home, surrounded by his children, on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. He was born in New London on November 12, 1952 to the late Leslie "Bud" and Mildred (Krueger) Eberhard. Michael served in the U.S. Air Force 3703 Squad Flight 1334 and was a chaplain with the American Legion Reno Post 21. He loved doing landscaping and renovating, fishing, golfing, going to friends' cottages, and grill outs.
Dad was supporting, caring, quick-witted and loved telling jokes. He was an amazing dad! He loved his family and friends. His children, grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins meant everything to him.
Michael is survived by his children: Jill (Jason) Day, Jenny (Jesse) Harris, Timothy Eberhard, David Eberhard, Tiffany Eberhard (significant other, Travis Nehring), and Benjamin Eberhard; grandchildren: Logan, Nickenzie, Gavin, and Ava Day, Dylan and Derek Strozewski, Kianna, Jesse Nicholas, Malia and Mya Harris, and Bentley Feick; siblings: Linda (Wayne) Marquardt, Jim (Cindy) Eberhard, and Tina (Dennis) Sprangers; sister-in-law, Carol Molter; father-in-law, Keith Kohls; step son-in-law, Keith Keller; and goddaughter, Krissy Betz. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas John Eberhard; son-in-law, Rodney Kohls; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Kohls; and step son-in-law, Phillip Kelter.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 1:00 p.m. Military honors, conducted by the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319 and American Legion Post 41, will be held at 2:00 p.m. He will be buried at Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in King, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. Please make checks payable to Jill Day.
The family would like to thank Zoua from ThedaCare at Home Hospice for her caring support in our time of need. She was amazing.
