Mary Ann Daul, 81, of Freedom, died Thursday, March 30, 2023, with her family by her side at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton. Mary Ann was born in Little Chute on September 15, 1941, to the late Vincent and Margaret (Sanders) Verhoeven. She married the love of her life, Mathew E. Daul, Jr., at St. John Nepomucene Church on January 7, 1960. Mary Ann worked as head cook for Freedom High School. She was meticulous, known for keeping a clean and decorated home and yard. She was a dedicated grandmother, attending the games of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary Ann enjoyed spending time at the cottage on Legend Lake and traveling to Florida in the winter months. She was always up for a game of cards or dominos with family and friends.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 63 years, Mathew; her sons: Bruce (Rose) Daul, of Freedom, and Brian (Sandy) Daul, of Freedom; her grandchildren: Darin Daul, Dustin (Jenny) Daul, Shauna (Matt) Locasha, and Travis Daul; and her three great grandchildren: Hadley and Aubri Daul, and Harper Locasha. Mary Ann is further survived by her siblings: Carol (Terry) Van Boxtel, Darlene Verhoeven, and Shirley Broeren; sister-in-law, Betty Smits; and her nephews that were like sons, Steve and Tim Daul along with many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Mathew, Sr., and Marie Daul; her brothers, Vernon and Richard Verhoeven; and her siblings-in-law: Lorraine (Jack) Caloway, Norval Smits, Florian "Bud" (Rosie) Daul, and Donald Daul.
Visitation for Mary Ann will be held April 10, 2023, at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of Funeral at 5:00 p.m. with Deacon Gary Vanness officiating.
We would like to thank Gold Cross Ambulance, Freedom First Responders, the ICU Staff at St. Elizabeth's, especially Sam, Adrianna, and Alison, for their exceptional care and compassion for our mother and family.
