Marjorie A. Janssen, Kimberly, age 91, died Friday, June 20, 2025. She was born in De Pere on January 21, 1934, to the late Clem and Elvira (Marquardt) Leanna. Marjorie married Gerrit Janssen on July 18, 1953. She was an active member of St. Paul Parish in Combined Locks, where she coordinated the funeral lunches and volunteered with the Mission Club. Marj was also a member of the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60 Ladies Auxiliary, where she organized monthly trips to the Island Casino as a fundraiser for the group. Together, Marjorie and Gerrit wintered in Vegas for many years.
Marjorie is survived by her husband of almost 72 years, Gerrit; children: Dan Janssen, Little Suamico; Michelle "Shelli" (Randy) Boelter, Town of Center; Becky (Tim) Rusch, Greenville; Julie (Todd) Wydeven, Appleton; and Scott (Doreen) Janssen, Town of Center; grandchildren: Nathan (Stephanie) Boelter, Amy (Brett) Mielke, Nicole (Joel) Bruch, Patrick (Allie) Rusch, Josh (Kara) Sprangers, Nick Janssen, Al (Hailee) Wydeven, Aaron (Hayley) Wydeven, Jake Janssen, and Megan (Wesley) Roberts; great grandchildren: Shelby, Maisey, Peyton, Troy, Hazel, Henry, Jaxson, Maddox, Griffin, Milo, Arie, Mason, Hallie, RaeLynn, Nora, Harvey, and Journey; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Pete, Joe, Audrey, and Janet Janssen. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is also survived by two special goddaughters Leah Harad and Peg Audette-Van Asten.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce (Jack) Micksch; father and mother-in-law, Peter and Martha Janssen; and brothers-in-law: Ken (Carol), Les, Don (Cook), Orville, Roman (Bernice), and Paul Janssen; and sisters-in-law: Sylvia (Ted) Kuether, Marianne (Larry) Schnabl, Rosemary (Dave) West, Marlene Janssen, and Jane Janssen.
Visitation will be held July 1, 2025, at ST. PAUL PARISH (410 Wallace Street, Combined Locks) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Committal Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
Marj's family would like to thank Gerry and Joni Janssen for bringing communion to her. Also, thank you to Emma, Kyale, and Stacy at Frontida of Kimberly and Compassus Hospice Care, especially Karissa.
