Van Handel
March 31, 1937 – February 24, 2025
Margaret Christine (Ulrich) Van Handel passed away on February 24, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Marge was born on March 31, 1937, in Appleton to Ken and Johanna Ulrich. She married the love of her life, Raymond on May 10, 1958, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Appleton. They had 66 years together raising three wonderful children. Margaret was a graduate of Appleton High School in 1955
She was employed for 31 years at a local nursing home. She loved to volunteer, and she did so for many functions. Marge was known as the Coffee Lady at funeral dinners. She also volunteered at the food pantry and cleaning at church, but her biggest joy was going for walks.
Marge is survived by her husband, Ray; and her three children: Steve (Ann) Van Handel, Appleton; Dan (Debbie) Van Handel, Kimberly; and Kelly Minten, Shoreview, MN. She is further survived by five beautiful grandchildren: Rachel (Travis) Fuzak, Eric (Emma) Van Handel, Lauren Van Handel (Tim Lynaugh), Kelsey Minten (Paul Forsberg) and Lindsey (Charlie) Raeker; great grandchildren: Addison, Jonah and Esther Fuzak, Anna and Naomi Forsberg, and Brecken Lynaugh. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents; her dearly missed grandson, Ben Van Handel; her brothers and sisters: Ken (Shirley Kempkes) Ulrich, Bob (Louise) Ulrich, Dorothy (Bob) Klein, and Shirley (Harvey) Stumpf; mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Joseph Van Handel; and Ray's siblings: Ed (Blanche) Van Handel, Earl (Audrey) Van Handel, Josephine (Martin) Van Asten, Martha (Ray) Woldt, Ann (Joe) Paalman, Cora Van Handel, Barbara (Ron Peterson, Gene) Sprague.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute) from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald Belitz officiating. Committal St. John Cemetery.
