Margaret "Pete" Lucille Hankwitz, Kaukauna, age 88, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022.  She was born in Appleton to the late Walter and Eleanor (Vredenburg) Bogan on February 1, 1934.   Through the years, Pete bartended at multiple area establishments, including Blue Angel and Hawks Nest.  Her true love was for cats and birds but enjoyed playing poker machines and scratch off tickets.  Pete loved spending time with her family and cherished her nieces and nephews. The Bogan family was always very good to Mom and her children appreciate their involvement in Pete's life.

Pete is survived by her children:  Bill (Pam) Hankwitz of Appleton; Cindy Gloudemans (Jim Schultz) of Kimberly; and Linda (Mark) Schroeder of Kaukauna; and grandchildren:  Jim (Jenny) Hankwitz, Brooke (Mike) Morrill, Jennifer Calnin (Craig Polakowski), Aldon and Parker Lehmann, Gail (Jeremy) Gloudemans, Sarah Grenz (Sean Ducas), Eric (Jessica) Schroeder, Emily (Mike) Baudhuin, Nikki Schroeder, and Megan (fiancé Craig Bunda) Hankwitz, Christopher Sager and Elisabeth Kirk-Olow.  She is further survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Pete was preceded in death by her stepmother Evelyn Nelson, her son Robert, her sister Renee Geenen, brother Wayne Bogan, and her special friend Donnie Hartzheim.

A special "Thank you" to the staff at both Care Partners and KindredHearts of Kaukauna for their special care of Pete. The family truly appreciated everything you all have done to make mom comfortable during her years of special care.

Visitation will be held April 8, 2022 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) beginning at 4:00 p.m. until time of Funeral at 6:00 p.m.
